Mixed-gender family pool area at Wome Deluxe halal resort, with water slides, sun loungers and sea views

Water parks, heated pools and kids’ clubs: holidays the children will talk about until next summer

Family holidays

Let them run, splash and sleep like logs

Picture the last evening of the holiday. The children are sun-happy, hoarse from the mini disco and already asking when you can come back. You have spent the week in a ladies-only pool or on a sunlounger with a book, not refereeing. That is what these resorts are built for: water parks with slides for every age, pools kept warm when the sea is cold, and kids’ clubs that run a real programme from breakfast to bedtime. All of it halal-friendly, most of it alcohol-free, and much of it with separate pools for ladies.

Water parks: the slides they will queue for again and again

Toddler splash zones, family rafts and the tall tubes the teenagers dare each other onto

Nothing fills a day like a water park. The little ones paddle in the splash pool with its mini slides, the older ones race each other down the big tubes, and you sit in the shade and watch them wear themselves out. On the Turkish Riviera, Wome Deluxe and Adenya heat their aquaparks, so the slides stay busy into November. Istanbul, the Red Sea, Morocco and the Gulf keep theirs open all year.

The Halalbooking difference is privacy. At ten of the resorts on this page the ladies-only pool has its own water slides, so mums and daughters get the fun without the mixed crowd. Seasons and opening hours are set by each resort and listed on its hotel page, so check them before you book.

Ladies-only slides

At Selge Beach, Bera Alanya, Adenya, Adin, Tugra Suit, Algora, Modern Saraylar, Rizom Beach Kumluca, Rizom Village Assos and Mola Istanbul the ladies-only pool has its own water slides, so the women in your group never have to choose between privacy and the fun.

Warm water when it is cold at home

October half-term, Christmas and February: pools heated for the cooler months

Heated means exactly that: the resort has told us the pool is heated in cold weather, so the children can be in the water in February while you keep your jumper on at the side. The thermal towns of Türkiye, Afyon, Kızılcahamam, Sapanca and Balıkesir, run warm pools all year, most with separate ladies-only and men-only indoor pools and family pools you can hire for yourselves. Qatar, Oman and Dubai heat their outdoor pools for the mild winter, and Pickalbatros Jungle Aqua Park in Hurghada heats every one of its slide pools.

Mola Istanbul deserves a mention of its own: an indoor-outdoor aquapark with ladies-only hours, open all year on the Marmara coast west of Istanbul, so a long weekend in January can still end with wet hair and tired children.

Kids’ clubs: busy from breakfast to the mini disco

A programme for them, a sunlounger for you

A good kids’ club changes the holiday for everyone. The children get crafts, games, pool competitions and new friends from across Europe and the Gulf; you get a morning to yourself and a child who sleeps through the night. Every resort below lists a kids’ club plus at least four more children’s facilities, from playgrounds and kids’ pools to animation shows and an evening mini disco. Age bands and hours vary by resort and season, and the full list sits under For children on each hotel page.

“The new aqua park is amazing! Great for young kids and adults. In my opinion the resort is best for kids under 7/8 with the water park and kids park and play area.”
